I love this time of the year because it seems like every time I step outside there is something new growing or blooming that catches my eye. Every day there is something different to see and to do.
I wanted to share some of the sights around the farm the other day:
The Girls:
The raspberries have been fabulous this year, far more productive than last:
A baby CT Field pumpkin! So far, it's my only one :
View of our raised bed garden. Last year, I planted 90 carrots and got one. I don't know how many I planted this year, but,as you can see in foreground, they are doing very well!
My Nikko Blue Hydrangeas are always so pretty in the summer:
We have had far more woodpeckers this year. I believe it's because there is a lot of tree clearing going on the area. This Hairy Woodpecker and his mate have been frequent visitors. One of my favorite pastimes is sitting on the deck watching the birds:
We trimmed the heck out of our Jonathon apple tree, and we knew it would shock it a bit. We only have about 7 apples on it,as opposed to last year when we had over 60.
Apparently the tour has tired out Moxie. Yes,he is actually asleep!! He falls asleep in the weirdest positions.
Thanks for checking out our little piece of contentment! I look forward to seeing yours!
